Well, we are in the final week of the course. I've learned so much about theories and implementing technology and how they can work together to integrate and enhance the learning experience offered to students. I learned more about Social Constructivism and its historical contribution to education. Some of the essential benefits of combining these learning theories with technology are that it provides a solid framework and an underlying theoretical approach to the implementation you want; for example, when they work together, learners can collaborate, communicate, and share their experiences. On the one hand, the learner's cognitive and another learner sharing their knowledge can construct new knowledge to enhance the learning experience. Technology integration is a tool to improve learning outcomes and promote student engagement. Technology implementation theory has no founder because it incorporates several theories and frameworks that multiple researchers and scholars have established over time.

In contrast, in social constructivism, you have the founder Lev Vygotsky. He is an exciting, famous Soviet Belarusian psychologist who studied law and founded many theories and concepts. Some of the central ideas of social constructivism include that learners actively construct knowledge, that learning occurs through interactions with others, that cultural and societal factors influence learning, and that exploratory experiences contribute to the construction of knowledge. Another aspect of successfully integrating technology in education is merging with learning theories or fundamental conceptions to model instruction. Second, develop a long-term sustainability plan or hypercare model to maintain it long-term.

Finally, the Bookworm app was developed due to multiple research studies on reading interventions for young children. The project investigates the use of technology in pedagogies to improve reading comprehension and oral literacy deficiencies in young readers. The pilot phase will be the mobile app with limited features. It extends beyond reading comprehension and oral language regarding my struggles as a youngster. I was not even thinking about an app until we had to develop an implementation project with the selected topic at the beginning of the course. If I remember right, it is called situational interest that sparks an innovative idea inside. The project allowed me to plan appropriately, from learning science components to integrating technology. These implementations are not easy, but it could be a successful product if you keep evaluating, collect feedback for improvement, and implement those changes. I am excited for what's ahead and hope one day to be teaching others to innovate but with sound evidence-based learning science theories.
