Reflection - The Literature Review

I am still trying to catch up on the literature review, but I am progressing. I am just thinking through my research questions and ensuring I have the proper constructs and alignment with the theoretical framework. I am working on narrowing the scope of the dissertation so it makes sense and the literature review components flow logically. I'm still working on adding more relevant literature pieces. Check the sources' reliability, usefulness, and study methods by critically reviewing them. I wanted to find peer-reviewed studies and texts that are more credible. I am now reviewing the main ideas and arguments in the works. Also, look for study gaps that your job could fill.

I have a plan for most of the literature review, but I need to start writing more. Then, I'll work on the current state of knowledge, theoretical theories, and methods while compiling a literature review. Look at and comment on the books. I hope to finish more of the draft by the weekend. I continued catching up in the other class, too, and it took more time for the project literature review to be due simultaneously. Integrating literature into a coherent narrative that aligns with the study's objective, such as providing background information for a research paper or showcasing one's understanding of the area for a thesis or dissertation, requires considerable time.

I did get a chance to let my peer, Jeri, review some of the content I will put on the portfolio defense site this week. The infrastructure and domain were purchased, and hopefully, they will be up by Friday. I should be able to get most of the content uploaded since I am familiar with WordPress, and it is easier for me to navigate the company's content management system. I know what to lay out and keep a clean, simple, appealing, and exciting format to keep the committee engaged. I should have it ready by this weekend. The following steps are to have another peer review and then let my major professor review it. I will meet with her to ensure I hit relevant points in each section and review the rubric to determine when to schedule it in April before the end-of-semester two-week deadline.

I felt good about my methods section and concluded that to do a multiple case analysis, I must ensure how I approach the secondary data, whether a public university or an Ivy League school. Another approach is a multiple case study between a university like North Texas and the University of Texas as I read through articles. I am finding that the institutional effectiveness of data is not well defined in terms of measurements. I believe I am on the right path for peer benchmarking, where comparing peer performance could provide a baseline for improvement in known and unknown areas. I am working on narrowing that down by next week.
