Analyzing Educational Systems

In my task one assignment, my system analysis was about an Artificial Intelligence course with Learning analytics that needed improvement. At first glance, it seems simple until you review the holistic of the systems of systems and how all the parts are interrelated. There were so many systems directly related to the design of investigation that it was intriguing how it unfolded into the systemigram. After completing the conceptual model, it uncovered interrelated components that had some impact on the whole system. For example, the academic advising office ensures students are guided to the correct AI program under the College of Information. Other departments offered AI based on their program structure. I realized there was so much to be covered with several other universities with similar programs that I was restricted to a limited number of pages. Still, I got some critical points denoted in the findings. I hope to bring in other comparison analyses with other programs to present more findings to help improve the current AI in education with the learning analytics program. According to Banathy (1992), in the system's view of education, you must evaluate or analyze a system with a "new eye' or view it differently. I discovered the many functional components in a university course and how each part is related and structured to carry out its function.
I learned so much about improving self-directed learning at the doctoral level. It is essential to have a good work ethic, goal setting, and discipline yourself with time management to achieve quality research content. As a researcher, you must do due diligence, have a theoretical framework, analysis approach or methodology, and have evidence-based science to establish credibility and validity to the work you present to add to the existing body of knowledge. I also noticed a lack of high-quality peer-reviewed articles in some publications. The research you are conducting is founded on reliable and accurate information. It has helped me to reflect on what I am doing and examine the content for reliable analysis.
Task one assignment was challenging, but I was able to apply the system thinking approach with a human-centric focus. The Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) was used to research the problem, define the root definition of relevant systems, construct conceptual models, compare conceptual models to real-world models, describe possible modifications, and implement those changes. Even though it was my first time utilizing the system thinking approach to a university course program track, the same principles could apply. In the future, I would like to collect qualitative data from the instructors and students. Like other university programs in AI education, I would encourage student mentorship. These mentees would be professionals working in their industry using AI in education.
